Automating payment processing for ads - Discussion
a lot of discussion has taken place about programs for displaying banner ads. I admit that I don't use banner ads since that is not the nature of my site and therefore I don't know much about the subject or the programs used to display them.
But I am familiar with payment processing programs like aMemberPro and Dream Account. and Persut had a post on the v4 features thread about using phpadsnew with INDEXU.
Is it possible to hack INDEXU to keep track of dollars and/or clicks for the phpadsnew ads? If we can do that, then we might be able to integrate the payment processing program to automate this whole process. Creating the fields would be easy. It's all the other stuff that is not so easy.
What does the phpadsnew code look like that is placed on the INDEXU page? The more I think about it, the more I guess one of the phpadsnew files would need to be hacked. Once before the ad is displayed to see if INDEXU has any dollars/clicks available for the account and once after the ad has been clicked to deduct the dollars/clicks from the appropriate INDEXU fields for the account.
