    Question application.php file empty

Is the file application.php supposed to be empty?
I am getting Fatal error: Call to undefined function: addfilter()

Also, the .htaccess file is giving a forbidden error on my web server, which goes away only if I remove the .htaccess file provided.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

application.php will be blank for new installs, otherwise if the installer sees data there it assumes it is only an upgrade.

I see. Thanks for the response.
Any idea as to why the .htaccess file might be causing an error?

There could be lots of reasons. Does your server support htaccess?

Try placing a blank .htaccess on the server. If you still get the error then you'll need to talk to your host about why they aren't allowed.

Start there and see what happens first.
