    Default Admin Blank - indexu_5_1_1

    Hi,
I have moved to a new host (1and1). Now my admin is blank.
Front end is working fine: Bangladeshi Bangla Newspaper | Banglanews | Bangladesh Newspapers | Bangla Natok

    Backend I see nothing: http://www.bdcan.ca/admin/

    Here is php: phpinfo()

I'll really appreciate if anyone could give me some clue!!

    Thanks,
    Shoeb

I hope I dont come off sounding like a 'used car salesman' but my suggestion is to RUN FAR AWAY from 1and1. I say this from experience 1and1 is not friendly towards alot of scripts, including IndexU.

With that being said... Are you using IndexU v. 5.1.1??? If so, its not supported. If you have a valid license, upgrade to Deluxe

It was fine until I moved my site to 1and1. I have changed a lot to the front end.
How much upgrade will cost me? I have purchased 5.1.1 in 2006, mid july. Will upgrade work in 1and1? I have 5 other sites there, I want all under one roof.

    Thanks for your suggestions!!

I'm gonna give my 'personal' opinion first... Upgrading or not, there isn't much that will work correctly on a 1and1 server, except maybe static HTML pages.

My professional opinion... Upgrading might help, but realistically, probably not. I know 1and1 compiles their PHP in a funny way, and if I remember correctly, they have issues with .htaccess as well.

I'm not sure what the upgrade cost is... I'm sure Bruceper will respond to this thread soon and help you with that.

I'm not a designer, so I couldn't really tell you what it would cost to make changes to your templates to work with Deluxe 1.2.1. There are designers on the forum here and NiceCoder also does custom work. You can send an e-mail to custom @ nicecoder.com and ask for a quote, plus post a message in 'help wanted' section of the forum.

Lastly, if you would like to switch your hosting over to my company, I can guarantee you that IndexU Deluxe 1.2.1 will work! You can also host your 5 other sites as well, all under one account. Take a look at the link in my signature and feel free to PM me with any questions. Be glad to help!

Regardless of anything... Seriously look into upgrading to Deluxe. With all the new features its WELL worth upgrading

Thanks again for the info. I'll check the features in deluxe, and discuss with my business partner. We needed few upgrades, I'll check and decide!

The upgrade cost to Deluxe is $30, which isn't a lot of money, and for the features you get you just can't beat it.

On the other hand, you can upgrade to 5.41 for no cost.

And yes, 1and1 is not known as a good host for dynamic sites.
