3.1 Demo

Hi Dody,

I've just taken a look at the demo for 3.1 and can see why this update has taken so long to produce.

10 out of 10 for style the question is and all will ask, how much longer until general release?

I could do with this update as I'm working on a much enhanced databse running over 2000 categories and in excess of 10,000 links together with a live data feed using a soap script.

Keep up the good work, and I encourage all to continue with the support for IndexU

But can u add total hits ?

ex:

http://www.indexu.com/
hits : 750
http://www.msn.com
hits : 200
http://www.ILoveU.net
hits : 850

then .. total hits in a guide = 750+200+850 ,calculate it

= 1800

can u do this ?

Hello,
if i go to the "Visit Homepage" Link I see the real URL in the status line of the browser, but the link will do through the script.
I don't like this, because all visitors will see affiliate links in the status line and this is bad

Two ways:
1. Don't show the real URL, you want, that the visitors allways come back to use your site to browse. They will see the real URL after they visit the link.

2. One more field to enter the text for the status line.

Ok, the demo looks good, now the question is what you will change to the final release ? Only bug fixes and templates (cp isn't changed) or some more functions ?

Hello,
if possible it could be useful to have also a link to the admin a´dmin and editor templates in the admin menu.
In the moment I can only change my visitor templates only and I missing the link to all the other templates.

Frank,

Whilst this link would be useful you can actually change this manually to edit admin templates and user templates.

You need to open the file /admin/template_modify.php and change this line of code -

// get files
$theme_path = $theme_path . "default";

To modify cp templates change the line of code to -


// get files
$theme_path = $theme_path . "default/cp";

to modify mail settings change the code to

// get files
$theme_path = $theme_path . "default/mail";

The safest way to modify admin templates would be to make a copy of these to your default theme directory and change the line of code to -

// get files
$theme_path = $theme_path . "default/admin_tpl";

Once you have made the changes is your admin templates simply copy them back into their original directory.

Hope this helps you.

I used my calculator and I came to the same conclusion. It equals 1800!!!!!

thanl you for the fast answer.
More "get orders" are possible and the templates will be saved automatically in the right folder ?
Hm, I will test it home, with this it will be much easier to change these templates.

Frank, right now you can't change files in /cp folder using template modifier. Anyway thank your for your suggession. I'll make a hack code when I have launched indexu 3.1. Please be patient until then.

It could be a nice feature, but as example what I wrote per email is more important.

But then you do it, do it for all templates, also admin and all the emails...
