where is the beginners guide?

people are posting here on how to let say add google maps to your detail page and they post the code but do not tell you what to do with it or where to put it?

is there a beginners guide to this stuff because i missed the first steps?

does anuone have any recomendations to where i should look for the first steps?

The first steps are to learn HTML. Then perhaps gain an understanding of PHP. Not how to program it, just how it works with things such as variables. Then it's time to dive in and start reading the code and figuring out where everything goes and comes from.

For mods they usually do tell you where to put it. Not specifically like after line 27 put this, but typically "put it on detail_link.html" and that's all that's needed. When you know what page it goes on then you can customize where it goes.

There will never be a guide that will detail how to use mods.
