How, do I go about disabling

just delete the code off from index.html...
will look something like <%rss ... yahoo %>

I'm looking for the same answer. Cleandex is my current template and nowhere in index.html is it pulling these boxes.
EDIT: Found it. Being pulled in from footer.html

Look in the header and footer files for the tags. The header sometimes has the left nav and the footer sometimes has the right nav.
It's not a very good way to program, but it works.

Clendex has the tags in footer - its a nice way to program in my opinion - you only have to change one file instead of every page (index/browse etc)
