This is a new mod, that I have been working on for a while now. It is a work in progress and I have further plans to make it better, but it works great as-is.
It works on IndexU 1.3, but does not support earlier versions of IndexU. So, do not install it if you have 1.2 or 1.2.1. It will NOT display properly.
Here is what it does:
It will alow you to switch hooks easily using your admin panel. If the plugin is compatible, you will be able to add a hook, or change which hooks that plugin gets attached to. You can attach the plugin to multiple hooks or just one, it's totally up to you.
How does this help you? Simple.. Lets say you have a block and it is compatible with this plugin. Lets also say that block is displaying on the top right of your pages. If you wanted to move it to the bottom or to the right side of the page, you would need to edit the template file (if you knew which template file it was in) and upload it to the server. Way too much work if you ask me. With this plugin, you simply go to your admin panel, click "Edit/Delete Hooks" from the menu, and edit your hook location. For now, the disadvantage is that you still need to know which hooks are available, but that will be fixed later.
I created this plugin for use with my "ImageRotator" plugin that I will be releasing tonight also. I had it incorporated into that plugin, but then saw the benefit of seperating it so it could be used with other future plugins. Maybe it could be added to the core IndexU code, so there would be no need for this plugin.
If you create plugins and would like to make it compatible with this plugin, I can help you do that. It is really quite simple.
If you have ideas on how to make this plugin more useful feel free to contact me.
Installation is easy, simply upload to your plugin folder and click install in the admin menu.
I will have this mod on my Script Dragon site within the next few days. It is also attached to this post.
My contact info is below in my signature.
As always, if you have any trouble with this plugin, post here, at my my Script Dragon site, or PM me.
Regards
mp
