Default New Mod Available - Clean Keywords

    Hi everyone

I have been working on this mod for a week or so getting it wrapped up. It is finally done. Here is what it does:

This mod makes cleaner keywords submitted by users for better display on your site. It works when both adding and modifying links. Here are a few features:

Removes whitespaces and multiple whitespaces from the keywords.
Changes all keywords to all lowercase.
Allows the admin (you) to change the number of characters to allow for keywords. This can be any number from 1 to 1 million and beyond.
Automatically trims the keywords to equal or less than the allowed number of characters before adding them to the database.
Will not cut keywords in the middle of a keyword (see example below).
    Tested using IndexU Version 5.4.0.
    Detailed installation instructions.
FREE upgrades for future versions of IndexU.

This mod will take the average user approximately 15-30 minutes to install and does require editing of the core php files included with IndexU and a minor database change (will not effect current listings in the database).

Here is an example of how it works.

Admin user specifies he will allow 20 characters for keywords.
    User submits the following keywords
"This mod, will, greatly, clean up, my keywords"

Right now, IndexU would store something like
    "This mod, will, grea"

Notice it cut "greatly" and just left "grea" as a keyword. What is a grea?

With this mod, it would cut the keyword after the last full keyword prior to 20 characters.

    It would display
"This mod, will" leaving only 14 characters, but leaving the keywords in tact.

It will also clean out the extra whitespaces and multiple whitespaces before reducing the number of keywords to the specified minimum.

Try the stock IndexU demo at http://www.nicecoder.com and then try my demo by following the links below. You will see for yourself how much cleaner this mod makes your keywords.

It works very well and I have received many compliments on it. I also have a standalone file to clean the current keywords in your database, if you have any.

    Regards
    Wayne
