Default gauging interest in a rapid link adding tool

Hi everybody, I have a roughly written custom script that accepts search keywords, querys google, harvest all the sites from the query, and feeds that into the link add admin page on INDEXU. It requires zero modification of INDEXU code. It could be made to be completely automated if you wanted to select only one category, but I have it progressing one link at a time so I can properly categorize the links. I have added a few hundred quality links with it today on my new site.

I'm just seeing if there is any interest in the script. If so I may devote some more time to make it worth distributing.

Some users would find interest in it. Try releasing it as a paid tool.

hmmmm...sounds pretty much like my AddLinks MOD but nothing wrong with another version.

Default Is addlinks really stabile and bugfree?

    Hello ESM,

I visited your site as I am interested in the Addlinks program. Only, your site has a lot of errors; forum does not work, FAQ does not work, even the Addlinks demo shows errors while testing.

What is the current version of Addlinks, when was it last update and what kind of quality do you deliver?

    Thanks and regards,

Sorry about that. My webhost forces me to change the password ever so often and I have to change ALL the databases. That sucks. Anyway, I have corrected the problems.

I really don't have a version number. I created AddLinks/EditLinks about April/May of 2006 and worked out the bugs over the next month or so.

Not much to update. One of my "problems" with creating software is that I can't release a half-assed product. For example, I could never have released the current INDEXU invoicing feature. Just way too many basic features missing. But I guess there may be someone out there needing a feature that I don't have in AddLinks/EditLinks but I think it is pretty complete.

I will say that if I did it today, I would look at incorporating AJAX to fetch the META data. I've gotten real familiar with AJAX over the last 12 months. However, I'm not sure that there is any real benefit in this particular case but it would be some nice eye candy.

No one who has purchased the programs has complained about the quality. Or much of anything else. One guy didn't like the fact that it took a while to determine a "deadlink" while editing a link. But that is a factor of the internet function that resolves a link. Have you ever gone to a website that is down...??? It takes a while for the browser to report that fact back to you.

Anyway, it allows you to add hundreds or thousands of links. And it does so about as efficiently as I know how and without creating a clone of DMOZ.

Just a quick note I was one of the first purchasers of addlinks and still use it today. It is a great tool.
