vB Integration : Hack at vBulletin.org !!

I am not sure, if any of you vB and IndexU users have noticed this thread at vbulletin.org ??

However, this hack/mod attempts at integrating IndexU and vBulletin ( various versions ).

Hi,

That hack has been posted earlier in this forum. At present that hack is only a one way process, that is to say, someone signing up in the forum is also added to the IndexU users and is not a 2 way process.

Dody is looking at a way to hack IndexU to do the same form IndexU to V Bulletin

getting indexu accounts into vB involves a "SELECT * FROM idx_users" and an "INSERT INTO user ( and userfield ). One of the problems is the difference in the fields between the two...only a handful are the same...

you could just add/update the basic fields - username, email, usergroupid and password ( vB uses a md5 encrypted password ).

changing the appropriate functions in users.class.php shouldn't be too difficult, just takes time...

I believe for this hack though you would have to sign in at the forums and for indexu. dodys hack is much better because you only have to sign in once.

I have read that hack before, but I think that is too complicated. So I decide to make myself that is easier.

Sorry, I didn't know this was noticed before at vb.org.

I also didn't know, that the hack at vb.org requires to logins...sounds like the one available at vb.org is not a integration, but just a standalone applcation to indexu.

Dody sure is doing a wonderful job in integrating both. I just took a look at the other thread.
