Default A Must for Version 4

    Dody,

You have to make the new version compatible with MySQL 3.22. I'm having far too many problems trying to fix the script to work with it. At least give it some thought because there are alot of hosts who are still using the old MySQL!!!

    Thanks,

Craven, it is a worry that your host is still using the old version of MySQL. I wonder if their other server software is old as well.

One of the reasons why hosting companies upgrade their software is because of security issues related to their current software etc.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would decide to transfer from your current host and we provide you with a special transfer deal.

If you decide to remain with your current host then I strongly advice you to find out if they still use old versions when it comes to the other server software.

    Good luck

I have to agree with Veg on this. as long as your host continues to use old software and not upgrade, your problems are only going to get worse over time

I started out with a host back in 1999 and felt some loyalty to them but they were slow to upgrade software, if at all. I finally went with a more modern company and greatly reduced my costs and also got better software.

    A matter of fact, a lot of our new clients are clients that have transferred from other hosting companies due to one (or more) of the following reasons;

    1. Their previous host used old software, which can pose a security risk.

    2. Their previous host charged too much and the price could not justify the customer service they received.

    3. The control panel their previous host used was outdated or they did not have a control panel.

We have transferred a great deal of clients to our web server and they are usually up n' running within 24 hours.

We always assist the client with the transfer (free of charge).

Clients that transfer to us receive the first month free of charge without any obligations to contrinue to use our services.

Did not intend to use this thread as a promotional tool but it is a serious issue when hosting companies use old server software which can often compromise the security of the web server.

All of their software except MySQL is up to date. They have very fast servers and a ton of storage and bandwidth. No matter what time of day or which day I call someone answers at tech support by the third ring ( I've never been put on hold).

I've shopped around from just about every web host you can think of and no one compares. Thats why I find it hard to leave!

The newest version of gt is compatible with 3.2 as well as many other link indexing scripts. I just think it's important to remain compatible.
