MOD for New Page

I never was particularly fond of the "New Listings" page so I redid it slightly.

This mod prints them out by date and then by category within the date.

This is just the first go at it so they will likely be some changes.

I think I am starting a collection of ESM individual mods.
At this rate I better consider joining ESM's website

btw just an FYI I purchased ESM's mailer program when he released it and he has constantly provided me with updates to make this mod better. So as it seems with each and every impovement he sends me a new version.

well, I got tired of fooling around with new and updated links appearing on the same page. so I separated them in to two different listings.

So one will be of just new listings and one will be of just modified listings.

You can see the updated listing at http://www.indexuhelp.com/indexu/show_updated.php

each has its own customizable template or they can use the same one.

Seriouly, it is where I post all my MODs/Hacks. I use the INDEXU demo database to test and display the MODs.

Hello esm,

your hack sounds interesting. I want to get rid of the updated links in new listing too. It's a pain in the ass, every time I do some changes on the description, a link appears in the new listing page. I have to use phpmyadmin to correct this. That's not the way it should be!

As long as I don't have to make any extensive changes to the MOD or add too many custom fields ( a few is ok ), the cost of the MOD is USD $15. Includes installation, future updates and support.

well, I think I figured out dody's templating system. It only took me 6 months...!

At any rate, I am replacing my old system and using the INDEXU system into my various listings.

Also, the listings use the INDEXU pagination system.

not that there is much difference when viewing but you can see it here: http://indexuhelp.com/indexu/show_new.php

I should have the others done in a few days.

The files are smaller and more efficient now and should run much faster than the standard INDEXU listing.

If you have a VERY large number of links (tens of thousands, at least) and the INDEXU listings do not work, let me know.

PS: I forgot to add that these new listings will now automatically include any custom fields from the links table and make them available for your custom template file for the listing.
