How do I display an editors pick on the index.php page

Hi all,

I was wondering a few things but figured while I continue to search through the forum I would post my questions as you all seem so nice and helpful and I can not figure this one out .

1.currently the index.php displays %hot-sites% but I would like to change this to just display my pick links instead. Is this possible ?

2. I see some sites have the description of the link showing with a <more> link how is this done ?

3. I wish to display the hits next to the link description and the only post here I found the person answered themselves that they figured it out
