Expending current static pages hack

Hello,

I receive numerous request to expend the hack to details.php, hots, new, etc.
If enough Indexu users commit to it I will have a programmer working on it.
If you want it please let it been known by posting on this forum, if you have additional request please let me know.

Here is my suggestion:

What about creating real static pages for hot, new, top_rated , etc and create fake static page for detail.php, they would go from http://www.e-gun.com/detail.php?id=11429
to:
http://www.e-gun.com/11429.html

or we can replace 11429 with the title of the link. Would that be acceptable? As you can see I am still reluctant to create so many pages. For me it would be like 17.000 it seem like a lot!!

Hello,

I have several news.

1) I am going to release an update version of the current static pages hack. I feel that some file had to be move to more appropriate location. 1 fuctionnality of the script will be change to make it more logical.
Of course the hack update will be free to current users.

2) I think I did come to a good compromise about the extended version of Static page hack.
a) Several more "real" static page will be created, hot, new, top_rated. editor pick.
b) All the page currently created by details.php will still be dynamic they will "pretend to be static" which should satify all search engine I will integrate the title of the link to the URL as to make it more unique, it will look something like:
http://YourIndexu/PageTitle.html
The hack will not use mode_rewrite.

If you want real statiic pages for detail.php I will ask the programmer but as some of you have notice creating real static page is time and resources consuming, detail pages need to be refresh every time it receive a vote or a reviews.

you should have the detailed pages show up under a sub dir, this will fill up your root dir if this is done, or even have them show up under there catarory structer.
