    Default Translation / Language Files

    Hi,

as far as I can see iDesk quite fits our needs, there are only some questions left:

    1. Is there a language file provided with the installation files so I would be able to translate the GUI to German? Or can the translation be done in any other way?

    2. I cannot find the requirements for installation (such as PHP and MySQL Version ...) anywhere on your website. Download.com states "Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003 Server, Web server (IIS, Apache), PHP, MySQL ".
Does it mean it will not run on a Linux box?
And do I need root access for installation or can it be done just by FTP and browser?

BTW: the staff and admin logins don't work, with the data provided it just says
    "User does not exist"

    Thanks fpr your time,
    D.S.

You just need to change language file and template files.

iDesk can run on linux/windows server as long as it has php and mysql installed.
You need to root access. Just a regular user in shared server.
In order to get email processing work, you need a cron job. You can easily run cron job in cpanel host in cron menu. But this is an optional. If you do not have cron access, user can still create new ticket via web. If you have cron, each email to your support email address (support@yourdomain.com) will become a ticket and will dispatch it to current department.
