    Default links not updating

I've uploaded the categories.txt into IndexU. The categories were created fine on my homepage. I did have to modify the .txt file due to the error as described in the install guide. I uploaded the links.txt and no links appeared. I did the update category path and update links (all links) and the script went through page by page showing some progress in the admin panel. When i checked the homepage the categories changed from having () next to them, to (0) next to them. I repeated the process several times, even modifying the links.txt to omit the Top/abcd/abcd/abcd/ stuff i omitted out of the categories.txt. Re-uploaded the new links.txt with omitted- still no links appearing. While the database is cycling through the link update, it shows (-1) next to each category. When finished, goes back to (0).

    Please help!

i tried splitting the links file...i cut enough links to make a new file about 500kb in size. I also tried uploading the entire file (which is about 7mb) either way, they upload and i get the DONE screen.

I would guarantee that 7MB would not happen, because by default PHP is set to only allow 2MB files to be uploaded.

Can you paste a few lines from the links file please? You can post them on the forum or if you prefer it can be done via PM and I'll tell you what, if any, issue there is.

well...the links file i most recently uploaded is 6048kb. so...a little over 6mb. I spit this file in half and it also uploaded just fine according to indexu (meaning i got the DONE screen).

first few lines from split links.txt (links1.txt 3mb)

The file cannot be over 2MB in size otherwise PHP will not allow it. I would suggest using a size of about 1.7MB.

Also just to make sure, between each field should be a tab, and not a space. Otherwise what you pasted looks just fine.

Just to add my two cents, IndexU will more than likely still give you a "Done" message even though it did not complete correctly due to PHP size limitations.
