parent not found is a dmoz extractor issue, but that has nothing to do categories not displaying.

Where are you seeing this issue? In the dmoz extractor itself or in indexu?

I'm usually ALWAYS wrong, but if you already had categories and then imported new ones, did you start the count at the end of your last original category? If not, thats probably what your problem is

If that is the issue then you did not remove the /top/ from the category path OR you removed too much from the category path.

Thanks, i will remember your helpful tip.
Just hope that I can get this sorted out.
In the dmoz manual it mentions the problem but does not explain properly how to fix, where do i go to fix this?

Look at the very end of the dmoz guide and it explains how to fix the path issue.

Yes this is the questions I asked for help with 2 days ago.

It is partially explained how to fix this problem in the guide. where actually do i find the file etc?

Do I edit the txt file. Sorry I am so dumb. It says something about removing the

Top/ etc /etc from which file?

To edit the txt file output by hand is going to take a long time.

The files you edit are the two text files that the dmoz extractor creates during the output. The file names depend on whatever you call them, so I can't help you with that.

You can use a program like editplus (EditPlus Text Editor) to do the search/replace.
