Search the forum, you'll find it. You'll also find it in my signature.

Also, this post doesn't belong in the Help Wanted forum. Thread moved.

    Bruce,

I tried the links in your .sig. Several lead to your website in CA - dead ends. One leads to in indexusupport.com website where I'll need to create a login to view the Install Guide. Is the Install Guide available locally, on nicecoder?

This is an example (IMO) of the IndexU community shooting itself in the foot. The help may be out there, but on a "foreign" site and difficult to locate. Which site is authoritative? Which site should the customer have more faith in, the forum on nicecoder, or the indexusupport.com site?

    Allen.

None of the links in my sig are dead. None of them lead to CA (california? canada?)

Yes the install guide is on my site, there is also a direct link to the guide on the forum here. For your, and everyone else's pleasure I just stickied that thread.

A "foreign" site? An example? What are these examples of? The inability to search a forum?

If you want faith join a church, but on nicecoder you want support, and that's me.

    Bruce,

Sorry for any confusion. I didn't say the links were "dead" they were, IMO, "dead ends", i.e., not where I want to be. My observation of CA comes from the first sentence in the AV website, "A-V Tronics is located in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada."

"foreign" wasn't in reference to any particular country, but meant to say, not on "nicecoder.com", where I think I should (logically) expect to find the Install Guide for a the product I purchased at "nicecoder.com". I realize you're not the owner or coder, but in a position to get it posted prominently on the nicecoder.com website.

"Stickied Thread": New concept for me. How do I use it to find the Install Guide? It seems to me simply providing in your .sig file a URL directly to the Install Guide would make (*your*) life easier. Saying "the Install Guide is available on the forum" to people who are (obviously) unfamiliar with the forum will lead to more questions to which you've previously answered "just query for it". In a post today you stated the problem with forums is if the user doesn't know what terms to query on, he isn't going to find what he needs.

Please provide a link in your .sig file to where the Install Guide is available.

    Thanks.

    Allen.

A "sticky" thread is a post that is "stuck" at the top of a forum.

Going to http://www.nicecoder.com/community/f...splay.php?f=20 will show you both what a sticky thread look like, and where to get the guide.

Signatures could contain hundreds of lines of good info, unfortunately then everything gets muddled and lost. I'll change it slightly.
