Default Votes Needed, take indexu to the next step.

Advertiser / Member Admin - NiceCoder Community Forums - Projects

This is the kinds of features we really do need to make the most money possible. If u look at the control panel for members it blows my mind that indexu as nothing like it, so my only option is to try to get theses feature implemented but i need the community support on that one and we need to get some votes on this. It would really benefit everyone and indexu is falling behind on keeping up with advance features and advance control for the advertiser/admin user side interface. Imagine no more using advertising agencies, imagine cutting out google adsence and letting your costumers control all of that and getting paid big dollars.Imagine giving a manage billing pannel for your costunmers so they can manage all there bills....Just look at the script how nice it is... indexu does not look good aside to that kind of Control.

It looks great... Infact, eDirectory looks like a pretty good directory script... But its also the difference between paying 1500.00 PER LICENSE on $99 per license.

Dont get me wrong, I would love to see this and more in IndexU... But lets take it one step at a time... Lets get all the bugs fixed, then lets start building on top of a better foundation one step at a time

Well here's the way it goes.

A LONG time ago, I asked Dody why the control panel sucked so bad and had no functions. His reply was that IndexU is about listings, not users.

Of course I tried to inform him that without users, we have no listings. But he didn't want to hear it. Ever. Lets face it, Dody had no vision whatsoever.

So we still sit with a mostly useless control panel which is an absolute shame. But not for long.

Once we're through with the bug fixes, I am setting out the future plans for IndexU. These will include (NO DATE SET!!!!! DON"T ASK!)

Expanded control panel for users including
    ability to have custom fields
    profiles
    ability to purchase advertising
ability to purchase sponsored/premium listings (without having to visit the listing first)
    ajax based control panel

    Then the rest of IndexU
    - ability to sell advertising
    - more plugins
    - email on expiry
    - ajax on template editing
    - revert template (save original AND last edit)
    - more payment modules
    - xhtml compliance

And of course as Frank mentioned, the price for edirectory is $1500 per license or a leased license for $69 per month. If you'd like to pay those prices for all of your licenses then I have no problem hiring a dozen programmers and making IndexU kick some serious arse. Until then, we need to work with what we've got.

I totally agree... and yah theres a huge prices difference but i doubt 99$ license is enough of a income for indexu to compete with all the new technologies and advanced programmers.

    Mind boggling

    I am sure you would

Happy to hear indexu will have these features you mentioned.

Me personally, I have alot of hope for IndexU. Most would probably say... "Why?!?!?!?!". But how do most companies that are going through hard times pull themselves together and move forward??? By trimming the FAT!!! ( Incase your unsure of what the fat is ; FAT = DODY )

By no means does this guarantee IndexU will be successful, but what it does mean is that its much more promising now

Do you mean that with a directory you can earn at least $ 1500 per year?

You sure can, it's not hard actually. That's only $4.10 per day, between sponsored/premium listings and advertising like google ads it's quite attainable.

for sure. But that's alot of permanent onpage / offpage work. It works better if you've get a niche directory.

Some of these features sound great

Remember before you can sell advertising and make $1500 and much more, you need traffic - good quality traffic which generally means good content

What can we do to improve indexu for the visitor
    - Articles
    - comment and rate like a blog

So the moral of the story is.... Dont think your going to put up a new directory and within a month or two, start making $1500.00 per month It takes time, dedication, and a unique quality about your site. After that, the earning potentional is very good

$1500 per month is a stretch for a new directory

But instead of thinking per month, try thinking per year. $500 per year is easy. Now make 20 sites that make $500 per year and you have something nice going on.

$500 per year is only $1.20 a day or so. That's pretty easy to reach with just google adwords.

That's why some prefer to make several specialized directories instead one bigger about everything as Dmoz?
