Whether you've made $50 in a month or $5000 or more I'd like to hear from you and get your experiences and possibly your insights as to what you did to be successful.

But I would like to hear more about what Inspireme just said.... There are alot of new people here... I'm pretty much including myself in that too But in order to have success stories, you have to know what to do in order to make it successful

An indept article on proven tactics to make a site successful would be great. The $40-$100 per day... Is that in Google Ads, Affiliate Links, Premium and Sponsored Listings, a mixture of all??? What value added services should people add to their site in order to make it stand out from the millions of other directory sites???? What are some methods you've used to get a good PR rating??? Keywords are essential, but whats the best way to implament them on your site??? I think your getting my point now

I would love to read articles like this from crediable people that have proven success on their IndexU directories

It's not off topic as it's what I'm writing about. While I try to be general in my writing and have used many of my own examples, people will probably think that I'm talking out my arse once I put it out for general reading if all I talk about is myself.

As for profit, personally I have found that it is NOT with google ads or most referral programs. It is with direct sales of advertising/sponsored listings etc.

Don't get me wrong, I make good money with referral programs. I also make good money with Adsense. But bang for the buck is selling your own ad space.

BTW, this isn't an article I'm writing, it's a small book essentially. It's about 70% done and the file size (.txt file) is 70.2kb. Lots of ramblings have went in as well as lots of comments and thoughts on all aspects of running an online business.

I''ve touched on topics such as domain names (buying and selling, also traffic domains and keyword domains), traffic, SEO, selling your site, methods to make money with the site, webhosting, disaster plans and more. The main subject of the "book" is making money with directories. But without all the other stuff mentioned above you can't make money. It's gotten quite involved actually and should end up with 12 chapters.

FSGDAG, have you make any money with your directory? Like I said I don't care if it's a few dollars. Some people buy scripts like this and never make a single penny. If you have made anything then tell me your story and what you did to get where you are.

So far I'm averaging around $2.00 per day with Google Adsense. My average daily unique vistors is around 40, with about 20-50 in returning vistors. I do have Premium and Sponsored plans, but I figured I'd wait to really push them until I can get a PR Ranking and more visibility. The site has only been open since the middle of June.. So I think I'm off to a good start.

But the one thing I do want to do is definately add more value added content, so I can seperate myself from the rest, along with giving people the most 'bang for their buck' Its the additional content that I'm trying to figure out what to add?!?!?!

well, one of my sites makes me 70$ a day from google adsense and that gets about 4000 uniques daily - to do that you need content not a general directory, you need unique descriptions, keywords titles on each listing. In a good niche (and to be honest the niche i picked isnt actually that great for returns, i get a lot of low value clicks) you should return a good click through rate. when your getting 4-6% of visitors clicking out on ads (by tweaking positions) all you need to do is get the visitors. If i can double the visitors i double the cash.

i can write a little more about what i did if you would like, i would prefer not to have my site mentioned in the article though, or rather, i would like my site mentioned, but perhaps jsut in a credit list at the end i dont particularly want people knowing its me/,y site im writing about, but a link in the article is always good

My site is a niche, atleast in the sense that its not just a general world directory. About 99.9% of all my listings have keywords and good descriptions. The only thing I'm lacking is keywords for all of my categories. I'm hoping to do that soon

The majority of visitors are coming from Google... Which is good I figure once I start my campaign to get more back links, and advertise, this will help greatly too

I would love for you to write more about what you did Yourself and others too I believe my site is off to a 'good' start, but I feel its not even close to where I need it to be a real success. I want to add more content to it before I start advertising it and promoting it.
