    Default Serious rant time

I am seriously tired of phpaudit.

It has got to be the single worst piece of software used to "sell" something that I've ever seen.

It's difficult to add products, annoying to edit products, adding a coupon to a product group is not possible, you have to add the coupon to each and every item individually.

Forget about license management. It's basic at best. Sure it works, and for someone that only has one type of license structure it might work great. But if you need multiple licenses structures it's a *****.

It's slow, clunky, disorganized and the most useless thing next to new coke.

Sure it does has some redeeming features, but the things that don't work nicely FAR outweigh the things that do.

I know some of the issues aren't due to phpaudit, they are due to past practices. But phpaudit doesn't have any easy way to change past practices.

Upgrading from one license type to another is a total pain, phpaudit has no method of doing it.

phpaudit is used for selling software, but it can only sell web based software properly. You CAN use it to sell windows applications, but it's a pain to do that.

Yes it's used to sell software. Is there any type of accounting system? ANything even simple enough to show you your total sales volume for a day/week/month? No there isn't.

It wants to be a shopping cart, but it fails miserably at the functions of most other shopping carts.

It wants to be a license manager, and it does a half assed job of it.

The verdict? we continue to use it because we HAVE to, until I find a replacement or make the programmers write us one.

So tell us what your REALLY think Bruce! LOL

As I've never used it before, I cant really comment on how bad it is... But I'm sure there has to be some good alternatives?!?!? I would think there would have to be some commercial grade stuff that would be a better fit.

I obviously dont know NiceCoder's way of doing things in the backend, but what about going to a dual system for Windows based stuff? I'm guessing it would definitely be a bigger hassle to maintain two of them.

Wish I could help you out with this one!

You don't want to know what I really think because you wouldn't be able to read it. I believe I've censored ALL of those words in vbulletin, but I could be wrong

No way on the two step system, it's all or nothing damit!

At an initial cost of $350 plus $150 per year for updates it's just not worth it. Of course leasing a license is an alternative, but lets not go there.
