Default Is the Nicecoder Community Forum Dead...?

Is it just me or is this forum dead...??? Seems like to me that other than a question or two about a language character problem ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS HAPPENING HERE.

heck, we don't even have any good fights anymore. NOTHING. NADA. REIN. NIENTE. NICHTS. ZERO. ZILCH. A BIG GOOSE EGG.

Well, nothing except that the status bar keeps flashing at me ever 12 seconds or so. What's up with that...?

Heck, there is more happening back at the family cemetery in South Carolina than on this forum. and there are only 60 gravesites there so it ain't like it's a beehive of activity there. unless something is going on that we can't see.

Anyone got any ideas that will generate any activity...??? Watching paint dry is more exciting than this.

If it is dead, then let's give the last rites , kick back a few brewskis and move on.

It's summer, web traffic dies down during the summer months and typically picks up around Sept 10. It's a trend I've seen for years now.

so, by mid-September we should see an increase in activity.

Yep it is dead. Nicecoder promised a lot of things when they made us pay for free upgrades... and heck, as per usual they annoyed loads of users and then failed to follow up on anything.

What were you promised that didn't get delivered or is currently in delivery?

Updates? They're happening, but Dody hasn't brought them out of SVN yet
Bug Fixes? Most of them are getting done in a day
Templates? All the old ones are done, and more are on the way
New products? iDesk was redone and has already had a bugfix release, more new products are on the way and I've seen beta's of three of them (admittedly one was an alpha release)
Plugins? From what I understand one of the programmers has been lax on this, but I'm trying to get things moving again and at least one was released.
Dody on the forum? He's been around and has answered many posts.

But all I can get out of the vocal users on the forum is trash talk.

I'll do my best to make changes where I can. And If I get honest to goodness suggestions then I'll do my best to impliment them.

I'm going to take indexu.com and make it into a mod/hack/theme repository for all things IndexU. But that will take some time to get it done. FSGDAG saw what I was doing with indexu.com before Deluxe was released, so he got to see something at least, but then Deluxe came along and I removed 5.40 and installed Deluxe and didn't continue work on it.

    Hi ESM,

It is always good to see you at the forum.
Well, we can always RE-start one of the old fights, like "Why pay?"!

I am sure Bruce loves that.

now, now, inspireme. you just gonna scare off the remaining two active members and piss off brucepr and dody with talk like that. and I will have to wait until September to have someone to talk to.

yep, we are all waiting with bated breath (apparently I like using that word: bated ) for Nicecoder to reveal what was talked about back in April.

Hey! let's do! Which side do you want to take...?!?!?!?!?

well, i doubt brucepr would find any humor in that especially if YOU starting talking trash again. Me, I don't talk trash. I just tell it like it is and they call it trash.

I'm still waiting a determination on the MOD I submitted for the MOTM.

But to bring the topic back on track, I do think echo@ had some suggestions which could/should be addressed.

Well, since I do not want to get into any further trouble with brucepr I may HAVE to take brucepr's side.

sorry bruce, but this really does not feel like a script in active development... v6 was released months ago, you asked us to pay for it despite free upgrades... most people were fine if things changed but they just haven't... on the svn i see bug fixes, but thats just "treading water" not progress.

Its just not how i would run this business... if things are slow then the users should know why...

Im the first to tell people this is a great script... I LOVE IT, I have made 2 successful sites with it now, one of them gets over 6000 unique visitors a day... im not complaining about the script, just the way nicecoder is run.
