Default New forum added - opinions?

I've added a new forum today with two feeds from youtube, one for website marketing and the other for seo.

The forum will update every 4 hours and get the 3 latest videos for each feed.

You can find the new forum at Marketing And SEO Videos - NiceCoder Community Forums

    Your opinions? Thoughts? Ideas?

I agree its like a smog of affiliate shite thats polluting the new posts area.

I do like the youtube video block, are we able to add this block in new posts?

Yes its a good idea as it generates more content but do you have a choice what content these feeds provide?
On the other hand what does google think of this, will it penialize the forum for effectivley aggerating / scrapping feeds?

Well as I stated, the content is for website marketing and seo.

What does Google think about using an RSS feed? Isn't that was RSS feeds are for? Check out the thousands of blogs that are run by automated rss feeds only.

The one thing I'm disappointed in is that many of these video's are spammy. When I first turned on the feed it's wasn't too bad. Since then it's gotten pretty bad and I've had to delete at least 15 of the videos because they were simply one big ad.

I use a feed on one of my own forums and it's going very very well, so I decided to try it out here too. Just due to the spam levels I've killed it and deleted the forum.

vBulletin does not store the content, only the text (same as any other feed). It linked to the video but I also added a mod where the video would embed itself instead of acting as a link.

Bruce, the idea is a good one, unfortunately those feed was not what we would like to read.

I am sure that you can find some quality rss feed that can give one or two good thread every day that could also be use to start discussions inside the community.
