Moving Forward - Customer suggestions

This thread isn't here for you to vent or complain. It's here for you to suggest how to "fix" whatever you think is wrong with the current plan for Nicecoders future.

In your post I'd like you to remember that Nicecoder is a business. So don't think just like a customer, think like a business owner and customer and see both sides of the issue.

My suggestion:
1. First, keep your promise about lifetime upgrade for people who are already customers.
2. Charge these fee for new licenses only.
3. Create a plugin shop and sell plugins maybe?

1,2 might not seem very attractive from a business perspective, but in the long run it's the only reasonable thing to do, and if you don't, you will risk losing customers because of it. And if that's not enough you will always be remembered as "scam", which isn't very good from a business perspective if people consider you scam.

1] A lot of time and hard work has gone into this latest upgrade, with the huge benefit that it is now Plugin Compatable, but the price is still $99, I believe that $150 - $160 would be a reasonable price.

2] Sell unique Templates compatable with the new Version. charge decent prices, between $40 and $100 for a template.

3] Sell Plugins.

4] Sell Installation services

5] Sell Database (Re) Installation / Migration

6] Sell Complete Database's (like soundofvtec is doing)

7] Create and Sell COMPLETE Packages, which comes complete with for example the new V6, Unique Template, an existing Database (for example Plumbing) and a choice of 2 plugins..
This means that someone will have a healthy link xchange with all the extras needed to start IMMIDIATELY... price?? $320??

8] Raise the price of 10 & 25 packages

Besides dePaulus suggestions, I would say the best way to increase current revenue, which is probably what NiceCoder needs, is to institute, as private customer only forum, that will be monitored directly by NiceCoder technicians. This would be a new service and not be covered by previous license agreements and would be part of the renewal fee.

Previous customers can choose to participate on any annual basis. New customers would have one year's worth of service folded into their license fee, whatever NiceCoder chooses.

In so far as publicity to attract new customers is concerned, if I do use IndexU for my new site, I would be happy to put it Powered by IndexU at the footer of my pages. I get thousands of unique visitors each day, and I think that this would be a good way to publicize NiceCoder's products. We are here to help each other.

Just to let you all know, I'm not going to comment individually on anything YET. I'll talk with Dody about them and see what could/can/will be done.

The talk about the plugin "shop" idea was discussed at least a month or two ago. So far that's probably one idea that will go forward quickly.

Another change WILL be some forum changes. Hopefully those can get done soon as well.

I'll comment on anything else after I've spoken with Dody.

Also please offer download link to latest stable version before v6 (5.4 ?).

By the way, the new v6 theme looks really bad, is it the only theme in v6 or do also exist the other themes from v5 ?

SVN is working. The theme (kosmos) for v6 is nearly the same as 5.4. As has been said before the other themes will be coming.
