    Default Livechat software

Currently I'm testing out a livechat application (CoffeeCup Live Chat) and I was wondering if users knew of any others that have these requirements

    1) Free or low cost - I don't want to spned big bucks
    2) PHP based
    3) Available windows application for "operators"
    4) Canned replies
    5) ability to send/receive files
    6) Does not munge html code
    7) ability to push URL's would be a great feature

One issue is that I do NOT want a helpdesk, just the livechat.

Thanks for any input you have, and by the way CoffeCup Live Chat is a nice simple program if you just want to offer livechat to your visitors with no fancy features and it's only $34 which is in a good price range for most users.

We use http://livehelp.stardevelop.com. I like the thin client in staff side. It run in windows, only necessary data will be passed to and from server, so no need to reload the web page.

    HCL - no windows application
    craftysyntax - help desk included
guestwho - would never use it due to the lack of documentation online, or at least a lack of a demo and/or screenshots

I tried livehelp, it wasn't bad other than you HAD to install it in a /livehelp/ directory or it wouldn't work because /livehelp/ is hardcoded in the files. Perhaps that was just the version I tried, but I found it annoying.

i used hte craft syntax one before and stripped out the helpdesk, When i used it it didnt have a client. Helpdesk removal is easy... just remove the link from the template

I'm quite impressed with Crafty Syntax after i've figured out how it works. It even does some things I wanted it to do but didn't expect. The client is more like an IE web app, but it does what I want and need so it's all good.

    Thanks Matt for suggesting it.

I have to admit the BEST Live Chat software I have found and use is PHP Live Helper Operator Login.

For a one time charge of $99.99 you can have the same script used by the sites that charge monthly.

    http://www.turnkeywebtools.com/phplivehelper/

I use it on www.uHost.ca for support.

    Crafty sucks. btw.

I've been using crafty for almost two weeks now and not an issue at all. It does everything I want it to do and more.

Yeah I first tried crafty, then found my current software and will be using it on several sites.

I'll send you a PM so you can log into the CP and check it out. O.K.
