HAHAHAHAH... This is GREAT!!! Kinda like the bets they use to do back in the day when someone was going to give birth. Guess the day / sex / weight / and size!

I'm not bold enough to narrow it down to a date, but I choos within 30 days. I've been following the progress in SVN, and each day there are updates to it, but maybe only 3 and they dont even seem to be the fixes for the bugs that have been posted on the board so far. Within week just seems too soon.

April 19, 2008. Plenty of time for testing and bug fixes.

You voted within the next 60 days but you are saying within the next 2 days (April 19)?

It appears from the work in the SVN, INDEXU DELUXE v6 was not released last week as planned since it was not complete. Or maybe it was also due to the numerous bugs in the SVN / BETA version. Those bugs do not seemed to be addressed so I don't think INDEXU DELUXE v6 will be out this week either.

I think they can get it out within the next 30 days if:
    1. they want to release the current SVN with the bugs therein or
    2. they actively encourage users to test the SVN version to find and eliminate bugs

A lot of software will have a Release Candidate version (many times 2 or more RC versions) with the purpose of finding and eliminating bugs from the final version.

While this approach would be a first for INDEXU, I think it would be a great move to get the software out on timely basis with as few bugs as possible.

    Agreed 100%

I hope this doesn't come off sounding like a complaint or *****iness but I think Dody and John will have to step up a little more when it comes to communication prior to implamenting a recurring yearly maintenance / support fee.

I know Bruce has talked to them that they would need to provide new releases in a timely manner, etc. but atleast half of it has to be communication in my opinion. I dont think that Dody should come on the board and make a statement like "version 6 is complete, will release next week due to it being a weekend" and then its not released, but no word on whats going on with it either. Bruce does a good job of filling us in on what he knows, or what he is allowed to discuss... but in order for me to feel comfortable that NiceCoder will provide more for the additional fees, I want to know whats going on. I dont need long winded posts or detailed posts, just a heads up on whats going on behind the scenes and rough time frames.

I agree with all of this. For anyone waiting for a stable, fully supported release (that would be 5.4 -- a significant time ago), this whole thing is incredibly frustrating.

That better be the case because I am the only one allowed to complain or ***** about INDEXU...!!! And no one is going to horn-in on this or I'll send Guido to take care of any problems.

communication is just something that dody has never learned and he has passed it on to Milton. Despite all the talk about it to both, despite the lost members caused by the lack of it, they both still don't get it. And any recent "behind the scene activities" doesn't change this. They think that all they have to do is hang another feature on INDEXU or tell folks they have hired another programmer and that will keep the natives from growing restless.

They obviously never heard of the Hawthorne studies done at Western Electric back in the 1930's. I'm sure it's out on the internet; look it up. dody and Milton would do well to learn the principles coming out that study. Until then Nicecoder/INDEXU will remain a story that would appear in case studies presented by MBA programs on how not to run a business.

I've always thought that the objective was to make money. and since no money is made after the sale from those who purchase INDEXU, they don't count. Just ignore them; they will eventually go away. Well, guess what? you ignored them and sure enough, they went away.

Nothing has occurred that I have seen or read to indicate this has changed. See My Final Review.

Sorry about that, I meant to say May 19, 2008. That was my "beta" answer which had a bug in it. All should be fine now.

Don ESM... I would never want my interests to conflict with your interests. Please accept my appology and know that there will be a little something extra in the weekly envelope for this unfortunate misunderstanding!

ROFLMAO...! Apology accepted. Just don't let it happen again. I'm the only one allowed to ***** and complain on these forums...!!! If I want you want to ***** and complain, I'll let you know when.

At any rate, hopefully we will all gain a measure of comfort in the coming days.

From what I've read, INDEXU DELUXE v6.0 is a free upgrade only if you have purchased your license within the past year. If you purchased your license more than a year ago, then you have to pay a license renewal fee.

Has a process been set up for those who have to pay to upgrade their license?

Yup, it's all in the client area. Although things didn't go down like I hoped, they are what they are and I can't control it.

I'll be making the announcement shortly.
