Default Good product needs qualified forum support

Indexu (5.3 or 5.4) is the best product I've ever used among the directory scripts. There're other more popular php scripts, however, I'd think Indexu is the right choice for really serious and creative webmasters.

But I'm really disappointed with the support forum. Successful products usually have informative customer support resources found in their forums. This forum is nearly dead. Only questions from poor noobs, no answers from experienced experts.

I turn to the Indexu User Guide. Unfortunately, the site most time doesn't load.

Hope everything will be normal. Best wishes to John and Dody. I really want Dody could come here often to help us noobs.

BTW, this forum also loads a bit slow.

    Dear Excell,

The forum & website should now work little faster as we change host to aplus.net and improve many thing this week..... Regarding Forum quality, please allow us few weeks to generate real support with good product supporter & moderator.

Only 10 days elapsed now since we make the new partnership, please give us time. For now working to finish & release v5.4

John, I fully understand it takes time. The site (indexuguide.com) still doesn't load. I even tried proxy server. The site used to be ok several days ago. I'd guess it's the problem with the current host.

I think that we are already seeing positive changes being made for less than 2 weeks there has already been large improvements , this gives me confidence that good procedures are getting put in place.

In regards to support and the indexuguide , I would comment that it could use more information... its pretty patchy in regards to alot of things,

The forum here is full of information and just really needs to be categorized, if this could be done and put into indexuguide it would make it a invaluable resource for current/future users.

    look forward to others thoughts.

    Cheers Ezy

I dont think you can get annoyed people who have been playing around with indexU for a long time arent helping out, to me it isnt suprising. a forum like this needs people who know the script inside out posting, why would people do it? they have their own sites to run. The forum needs support staff to be on the site answering questions, this will cut down the support tickets as people will find their answers on the forums. Im sure everybody looks here first, i know i do. I bet most of the tickets are for the same/similar problems.

I have one of the highest post counts, i guess i have taken a lot out of indexU so i spend 5 mins a day posting if someone has a question i can answer. If i dont answer, its not because i cant be bothered, its because i dont know... pretty much the whole of my website has been trial and error, i have no php skills, and i hack, IndexU really has made me get my hands dirty.

    Ps.
Hi john, hope the new venture works out well for you.

pps. why doesnt my signature work any more?

You're 100% right, currently zubby is forwarding me all answers he make to our customers and I'm crawling forum to get common & usual question to work for the HelpDesk FAQ.... Please allow us some time for this.

We need also to improve a put online again Indexuguide.com

I know developper must post on forum, but zubby feel not comfortable with it last year as too "cruel" for him For the moment, the better place to ask technical question is still "Helpdesk" where developer provide fast answer, usually in less than 24H.

Also a forum can be a real waste of time for a developper as many people never make a search an post 10 time the same question, more you give, more they ask, and this is bad for script improvement time !

I'm sorry to heard that, but you should be an old customer to be a kind of beta tester like you say..... For now the v5.3 is really the most stable version making IndexU one the strongest Web Directory Script, and v5.4 will confirm this better !

Only customer using "Nightly Build" may have dirty hand, and we thanks them to help us beta test newest version !

For the moment it's a shame, but with time this FAQ will become strongest

Thus far I am not happy with this support forum at all. Didn't know there was a support ticket system. Somebody give me a link.

Agree the guide/faq does need more answers.

How about adding something along the lines of the following to the guide/faq as there are a confusing number of solutions for diffrent versions of the script here on the forum for adding images.
