Problems with installation (Internal Server Error)

Hello,

I've downloaded IndexLite and uploaded the files to my hosting provider. I'm following readme.txt fot installing the software.

Step 4. Open you web browser then run “install.php” on your
browser (eg.: http://www.mydomain.com/install/install.php).

Returns:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, support@mijndomein.nl and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Can anybody help?????

Don't forget to chmod 777 .htaccess
If it doesn't work, edit .htaccess and put comment # in front of all lines so no command will be executed.

I'm sure this problem is caused by .htaccess, perhaps your hosting is restrict the use of .htaccess
