    Default Installation trouble [Windows]

I am currently testing Link Indexes. I am have difficult time installing your software.

    I am Running:
    Windows 2003
    IIS6
    PHP: 4.3.1
    MySQL: 3.23.56-nt

I can run phpBB, InvisionBoard, vBulletin, etc without a problem. So I know my PHP and mySQL are working.

The install.php comes up. I fill in the fields. It writes to the mySQL database fine. I click the link on the bottom to goto the admin page and I get a blank page.

If I type in what the frontpage of the index would be I get "Unable to connect to database." The same database it just wrote tables to.

Any possible places to look for the problem?

    Thanks.

    chmod your application.php to 777

Make sure your mysql database is created.

Make sure your fill in the correct information of your database, username, password, localhost, ect.

If you don't chmod your application to 777 you can't write to the admin setup during installation.

I had the same problem. Then I opened up application.php and corrected some of the information by hand that hadn't been updated correctly. It worked, but now I'm facing a different problem - how to get rid of all those '/" ' that pesters most of the urls...

Default Chmod to 666 or 777?

Why do your instructions say chmod to 666????? Also what should the fields look like exactly for the database, hosts etc. I dont have that part in my instructions. Are they supposed to be in " ' " or anything?

He says he uses windows so he can't chmod the files you should now this Hart_House.

You need to see if the file is write protected or not. Only *nix uses chmod
