Customization to indexu 3.1 search

This is a request to have a mod or function created that gives the option to search by
1 all directory
2 category
3 all the web instead of this I would like a Product Search

Would like the search display page to display the directory listing and the products for all

and just product when option 3 is selected.

hmmmm....how do you define "product?" If I search for "computer" on your site, it returns the categories that have the word computer in the title and any listing that has the word computer in the keywords field or the title or the description.

If I search for "computer," what listings are shown that you don't want it to show? or what listings should be shown that are not shown?

Ultimately, the question is how do you distinguish one product from another.
