I found Nicecoder.com while looking for a legitimate and stable tool that could extract some content from DMOZ so that I could start a niche directory. I bought it today, installed it, registered it, downloaded the DMOZ files, and followed the step by step instructions in the manual. The process failed when I clicked the PARSE button and an error was generated. I've reported this to the help desk and included a screenshot. Turning to these forums I'm concerned to see the post about the state of the company. When was the last time Extreme Dmoz Extractor was updated? What are the know bugs? Can I be sure of prompt support? |

Extreme DMOZ Extractor is going through a complete 'make over' and overhaul. Currently, DMOZ Extractor only supports extracting English from DMOZ. The new version will handle additional languages. I dont know of any bugs other than it only being able to handle English. I'm sure Bruce will chime in shortly and provide any other known issues, but like I said, I'm pretty sure there aren't any. I've used it numerious times and haven't had a problem. I've got a feeling your issue will be an easy one to fix. Support here at NiceCoder is mainly handled by Bruce, except for those times its kicked up to the programmers. Bruce does an EXCELLENT job of handling support and giving assistance where needed. Its the weekend right now... Bruce is usually on during the weekends, but his response might not be as fast as if it was a weekday. I'm sure you'll find the level of help he gives to be more than exceptional

If you read the forum, then you know that there was recently an undocumented change to the RDF files. We have no control over this. Temporarily, simply fire up the DMOZ Extractor and before it completes searching, but after it finds results, simply stop it. The new DMOZ Extractor is already in development. However I can't give an ETA for it because we don't have one.

Yes it works, I use it weekly and have for a long time now. If selling software that works is dishonest then please don't purchase. It works and we're working on a new release with literally a ton of updates and changes.
