Default What Resolution Do You Run?

    What Resolution Do You Run?
    1600x1200 9.11 % (114)
    1400x1050 1.92 % (24)
    1280x1024 26.06 % (326)
    1024x768 50.04 % (626)
    800x600 11.91 % (149)
    640x480 0.96 % (12)

If you are asking what resolution a website should be designed for, here are my guidelines:

Public websites where it is important that anyone with Internet access can use the website should be designed for 640x480.

Business to business websites can be designed for 800x600, but you'd be surprised how many businesses are still on 640x480. So, if you are selling to small independent businesses, you might still want to go 640x480.

Higher end or graphics intensive websites can be anything you want - given that the website is designed for higher-end users and the lowest common denominator isn't a a factor.

A reasonable trade-off is to design for 800x600 since people with 640x480 resolution are used to having to scroll horizontally as well as vertically.

I create most of my websites in a way that they fit all the way from 800x600 to the most higher resolutions...

I make mine suitable for 800x600, but best viewed in 1024x768.
