    Default Website Header

There are 3 main area's of website design that we should pay attention too. The header, the body and the footer.

The header is the centre piece of website design, the introduction of your website. Most people will either use the header for advertisment or site navigation along with website logo.

Header is probably the most poorly used by website designers, because they are too concern with high graphics and advertisement. I personally hate going to any website with an ad on the main page. First thing you see is an ad which takes forever to load and distracts you from the rest of the website.

Most main page should be between 50k and 80k for fast downloading. Anything over 100 k is not recommended and is probably too much. Reduce .. reduce..

There are other ways to promote ads without using banners. You have to think about it and be creative.

    I would agree.
I am a graphic designer and I dont care how much useful information a website has...if it looks poor I walk away.

The header is very important to me, but for some reason people sometimes forget about this area. If you want to create a presence on the web you need a image that people associate with your website/product and then this is where the header is an excellent place to put it.

So if you have your heart set on making a serious website, then give the header some serious consideration. It may well dictate the fate of your website.

Whats the use of advertising if no one stops by and see it?
