There are tons of sites to get stock images from: dreamstime.com, luckyoliver.com, istockphoto.com, etc.

Visit http://www.sxc.hu for an excellent (and 100% free) site. Approx 60% of the images there do not require anything in the way of permission to use. Of course credit should always be given but in many cases with the images from that site they are not necessary.
I've spoken with them and am considering putting some of my images on the site.
