Question Question about the rss feeds

    Hi,

I am at best a intermediate web designer and I am feeling really dumb about now figuring out rss feeds. Now I have gone through the templates and I see how the feeds are displayed in the code and I have successfully added other feeds to my site.

Now I do get an error message if I click on the pre-existing rss feeds icons that come with the script

If I click on that omage I get this error:
Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "rss/rss.top10.xml" in /home/hearts2u/public_html/lib/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "rss/rss.top10.xml" in /home/hearts2u/public_html/lib/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088
Now I realize I have not created any xml files as the error states
    rss/rss.top10.xml
so can someone explain here what do I need to do to give people access to my rss feeds. I really appreciate any response thank you. Also Is there any way to control an rss feed that I display as far as layout, max characters per line etc.

    Thanks
    Jer

Please check your template file. You should have xml files in /themes/kosmos/rss/

    Question

Ok thanks for the reply I found looking through ftp that the rss file did not get copied to my new template.

Now my other question is like on your demo when you click the rss icon it does nothing. If I click on it and open it in a new browser the page is blank. If I view source on that blank page it says:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
    <HTML><HEAD>
    <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
    <BODY></BODY></HTML>
    Thats it?

So can you explain how this works and how others can use it etc?

    Thank you so much.

Are you using IE? if so, you will get blank page. This is a bug, we've fixed this issue, svn server is updated. We will include this fix in next release.
But if you use firefox/opera, this problem does not occur

hey once again thanks for the quick reply and by the way nice product I am extremely happy.

I checked in firefox and you do get a page with links to the rss feed link so that is the way it is supposed to work? Then the person interested in the rss copies the link to their rss reader page right?

Ok I think I am getting the hang of this hehe.

I am going to PM you about a couple questions please read it thanks for the help.
