Default [download] Here is general 427 categories

Building categories for startup directory may consume plenty of times. Usually it takes hours of boring data entry work

Here is a share my categories which i use in indexu.net. It contain 427 general categories with 2 level deep. Good enough for start up.

    To import:
    1. Make sure you have empty/fresh installation
    2. Go to admin panel > database > import
    3. Select the file; Table: category; File Format: Tab Delimiter; Click Import.
    4. DONE!

    Default Data Format

Is this the only way the sample data can be formatted? Can I use Excel to create separate data files? 1 for all the categories, and 1 for the links.

I am working on a general podcast directory, and a weblog directory, and I need to find a way to import data quicker.

If anyone can attach more sample data files for both categories and links, it would be nice.

The tutorial shown here Indexu Guide: Real Case: Building General Web Directory (indexu.net), shows the sample data imported through the admin control panel.

I need help with the category numbering system in the sample data file.

you can export the files in indexU, then load them into excel - you can then save them back to tab delimited files and import them using the control panel if you prefered.

I just imported this file to my new project, indexubid.com (5.4.0), without any problem at all.
Don't forget to perform update category path after importing the categories

    Question Where are the links?

I was interested in this thread but when I tried to go to http://www.nicecoder.com/community/b...structure.html or to indexubid.com, I got errors.
