Links in Columns

Hello, is it possible to arrange the links in categories in 2 columns or more... i read a post from dody about there being a smarty that will do it, but i'm still kinda lost:

I think you can do it with smarty by using if statement and use %2 (modulo 2). Never try it yet but it just comes in my head

Any infomartion or guidence would be much apreciated!

yeh i havent seen this been done ... but it would be a good feature.. for some people i guess who have small row files.. and could put 2 or 3 across a page....

has anyone tired it.....?
