    Default Questions about Deluxe Upgrade

I currently have a paid version of Indexu 5.4 and I'm considering about buying the upgrade to Deluxe, but I have a couple of questions.

    1. What's this about having to put the copyright on our websites, wasn't Indexu supposed to allow copyright removal for free when you buy the license?

    2. Is any of the Deluxe templates table-less, XHTML/CSS Valid? I remember the 5.4 templates had a lot of old code and didn't validate at the W3C.

    3. What new features have been implemented if any? Benefits of the new version over the old one?

    Thanks

    1) Copyright is required on all new licenses

    2) Yes, but I don't remember which ones. I believe most (if not all) of the indexutemplates templates are all tableless. All of them are xhtml/css valid or will be shortly (we're redoing all of the templates to ensure that they are)

    3) lots. The most important changes are the plugins and the ability to upgrade without having to alter/edit your template

This got me a bit confused. I read this on some other topic.

BUT as we made users aware a long time ago, grandfathered licenses that were purchased before a specific date were not required to keep the copyright, even if they upgraded in the future.
I had had a paid license since 2003.

But Indexutemplates are subscription based right? I would like to know about the designs that come included in the program. Is there plans to include tableless template with Indexu, or to fix the current free templates to be tableless?

    Thanks for the help

If you purchased your Deluxe license before Jan 31 2008 then you do not need to pay for copyright removal. This has nothing to do with when you purchased a previous version. If you upgrade after Jan 31 2008 you will still need to pay for copyright removal if you want to remove the copyright info.

For the month of January the price of copyright removal has been reduced to $10. There is also going to be a coupon for IndexU in the newsletter. So even with the copyright removal the price of IndexU with the coupon will only be $75 instead of $109. The newsletter will probably go out tomorrow evening, you can sign up for the newsletter here.

The free templates will not be converted to tableless css. They will remain as they are for now (this could change in the future, but there are no promises). The premium templates are going to be sold individually on this site and are supposed to be added already (we're a little behind on that)

Basically what you are saying is in order to upgrade the system I would need to pay as much as I would need to pay a new license.

Honestly I'm dissapointed to say the least. I see that my license that was copyright free and that the lifetime upgrades had an actual expiration date since normal Indexu is no longer gonna be updated. You may say that its not the same product, but from what I see from the Demo, its the same as the old one, same old templates, same old everything, except some bugs fixes. Anyways no point to get angry about it, I'll just either continue using version 5 (since there is no added benefits to upgrade) for the meantime or shop around for other systems.

There is a TON of new features with IndexU Deluxe. Alot of them cant be seen just from the user side of the demo.

The issue of it being a new product or getting unlimited upgrades has been beaten to death, so no need to continuously beat a dead horse

The price I stated was for a NEW license. To upgrade you simply need to pay the cost of the renewal which is $30.

For some reason I totally forgot that you were upgrading and not buying a new license.

No added benefits to the upgrade? You might think that, but then you'd be wrong. There are a lot of benefits, including bug fixes, code improvements, plugins, temlates, hooks, functions and features and more.

I came to nicecoder since I was considering to buy the Dmoz Extractor and said hey I'll download the latest INDEXU version since been a year and a half since I was here. So maybe you think I'm going over some old topic, but for me it feels very new.

Ok, totally scared me there, I was wondering why the upgrade was as expensive as a full version.

The copyright removal issue has changed. Copyright removal is now required AFTER Feb 1 2009 for all new purchases and renewals.

If you want to purchase now it would only be the $30 and I think I'm going to lower that too. In fact I just did, it's now $20 instead of $30.

    More questions:

    1. Are the plugins seen in the admin area included in the Indexu Deluxe install?

    2. Is there gonna be a Invision Power Board bridge plugin?

    Thanks

Thumbs up Okay... I'll bite! But where the hell do I DO that?

LOL Okay, guys, you've convinced me. I've read the arguments pro and con... played with the demo and looked over the feature list (GAWD Bruce that feature list is a MESS in Internet Explorer! You should take a look at it there.)

I'm tired of listening to the griping and complaining. The fact is you guys CAN NOT continue to maintain, support and upgrade this product using only the $99 I paid you back in '03. I know that. I knew it back in '03. Dody was nuts to ever try to do that.

Yes, there have been highs and lows and bumps in the road along the way, but overall despite the challenges you've continued to make progress -- slow at times -- but progress nonetheless. Besides, I don't care WHAT they say about you Bruce. I LIKE you. You and John have obviously been a big factor in helping to get things straightened out around here and I thank you for that!

Believe it or not, I hand picked this software as the best product in the world in its class back in '03 and despite everything, I still believe I made the right selection. So, I'm in for a penny and now I'll go for the pound I suppose.

After due consideration, I'm upgrading my basic indexu3.1/3.2/5.4 license to Deluxe 1.21. and to HELL with what ANYONE else says.

The only remaining problem after reading through this discussion was I couldn't figure out where the heck to do that. I read this whole thread figuring it would provide the upgrade link but it never did!

I eventually discovered if I went to the Client Login page of the site and logged in there I could View my licenses and renew them I own 3 licenses and renewed 2 of them paying $20 each. But only one of the two licenses became accessible after I did that. And I don't seem to be able to download even the license it acknowledges is paid for yet.

    Can you help, Bruce?

    Thanks!

Good for you, now go to ....

The client area, click on View beside your IndexU license, then beside "Order Product Extras:" click on "Buy new addons, support and upgrade packages"

Did the spacing entertain anyone? Probably not, but I thought it was funny.
