Thanks a lot for the replies. This I am looking to wrap up my due diligence, I would like to have these two feature, and would appreciate it if I could get some estimate of approximate costs. Please feel free to PM me, if possible.

1) Adding an Wordpress-like Akismet facility for comments. I would prefer that registration not be required for sign-ons, since for my directory I would like to promote comments. There is a similar mod available for PHPLD.

2) Adding a Bad Behavior mod, that can be turn on and off as backup to Akismet in case my site is spammed.

In addition to these Anti-Spam controls, I would be interested in a customized template:

1) That would integrate a Wordpress Blog into IndexU on a category by category basis. That is, reading the Wordpress database and populating (displaying) a post to the corresponding directory page.

2) Can be based upon an existing template but with a customized logo.
