Default Moving to deluxe - 2 questions

    Hi,

I have some licenses of IU 5.4.x - I have not decided about moving to Deluxe few month ago.

    Now I have a questions:

    - May I move and upgrade one of my _single_ license to Deluxe and move it to new, registered account ?

    or

    - I must make a new account and buy separate license ?

    thanx for the answer.

You can upgrade one or more sites to Deluxe without having to have a seperate account.

Of course if you purchase one Deluxe license then you could only upgrade one site to Deluxe, but you do not need a second account.

However, IF you want a seperate account, you can do that. Due to how our system works you would need to use a different email address though.

If Linksor is upgrading would he be fourced to keep copyright footer on his installations unless he paid to remove?

Or would you turn a blind eye to this as his licences when purchaced were before the "copyright protection" concept?

AFAIR on all my sites COPYRIGHT has not been removed. If yes I will put it immidiately.

The "copyright" does not make any negative effect in SEO for me.

edit: Okey - I have bougth an upgrade. Hope to see Indexu Deluxe download option soon.

Let me explain a little first.

Copyright removal is a ONE TIME fee, so if you purchased it 10 years ago then you still have it today and you'll have it forever.

So if he did prchase copyright removal at some point, the upgrade or renewal would not affect him. He still has it.

Saying that, as far as I know he does not have copyright removal. BUT as we made users aware a long time ago, grandfathered licenses that were purchased before a specific date were not required to keep the copyright, even if they upgraded in the future.

At this specific moment I cannot remember what that date is, It's somewhere around Dec 31 2008. If you happen to remember or have the thread where we spoke about it then that would be excellent.

linksor, which domain did you want this Deluxe license for? It needs to be on one of your single domain licenses and you have a few.

copyright removal was "introduced" early last year, I have a thread awaiting "moderation" regarding this.

If i remember corretley it was discovered by the community not actually announced by nicecoder

I purchaced my licence in October 2007, before copywrite removal was introduced then upgraded to deluxe recentley, does this mean i have to now pay for copyright removal?

linksor.com its not the SEO im worried about, I just dont like publisizing what script im running, that simple.

It takes 3 seconds to tell what script you're running, the issue is the version. I'd have no issue with users removing the version number.

is this a common requirement with other directory scripts? i don't see copyright links on any of the esyndicat example sites, for example. on the other hand, this was perhaps an add on cost for removal, too -- though I don't see a singly site with one. it may be for others. just curious.
