Default Many licences on same domain name

    Hi,

How much the cost for multiple installations of IndexU on same domain name ?

    First_install.mywebsite.com
    Second_install.mywebsite.com
    Third_install.mywebsite.com ......

I mean unlimited install but still on the same domain name.

    Thanks

Why would you really want to do that? But to answer your question, in the past Dody has allowed users that are running multiple instances on a single IP but with multiple subdomains to run a single license.

You must speak directly to him about this. Send him a PM

Just curious as to why "Voyageur" needs permission from Dody?
A license is valid for a (ONE) Domain, so surely he can have 20 running off of that Domain,.. only thing is, he will have to create individual DB's for each one.

Just recently I purchased an " Accommodation Rental Script" and got a great domain name for the same purpose.
    For example..
    w*w.mydomain.com/united kingdom/
    w*w.mydomain.com/usa/
    w*w.mydomain.com/france/
    etc..etc..

This way I could advertise each country / region seperate. Works very well.

So, if the license is set up for ONE Domain, it should not be a problem at all..
BUT, saying that, we ALL thought the same thing about "Free liftime upgrades".... Well almost everyone!!!!!!!

You say that multiple installations on same domain is allowed ?

I'll test it when i'll be at my home, i'm in holiday and don't have the files script with me.

He needs "permission" because a license will only work on a single domain and IP.

    blah.com is a single domain
    something.blah.com is a single domain

So if you want the script on both (or more) then Dody needs to add that permission in the license area because that's how phpaudit works by default.

dePaulus can say what he wants, he is not an authority on the forum and has no idea how the licenses work. They function as above and all Dody needs to do is log in and check a box to make this work for you.

I NEVER said he can do it, I was merely stating a question.. hence the questionmark (?)..

Bruce is correct, I have no authority on the forum AND I have no idea how the licenses work... ... But what has this to do with asking a question and making a remark, that I DO understand why "voyageur" would want to do this, because you cleary did not, (and I quote)
Why would you really want to do that?

I understand why as well, but I think a single install is better anyways. Or perhaps a single install with one database and multiple front ends which would not require multiple licenses or a license that has subdomains enabled.

Bruceper is right, a subdomain is another domain and can require another licence, others companies don't allow multiple installations of their softwares and anyway the owner of software (Dody) is the only who can allow or forbidden such thing.

Dody just reply me, he allow but as Bruceper say, a subdomain require host permission from nice coder, i understand this.

I'll buy licences as i'll be at my home, keep working good guys !

As I said above, there may be better ways that using a lot of back ends for each subdomain. You may want to explore this idea as it can just end up being a lot more work for you.
