I am interested in purchasing IndexU and I have repeatedly PM'd the company on Yahoo IM and I have also sent emails with no response. I need to know about the ability to customize this script and a little support would be appreciated. How can I get ahold of their support?

Well I have a few questions. First I noticed how the directory on nicecoder.com is a lot different from the script demo. For example the category structure, with the featured sites below and how they have screenshots. Also the listings, how they have their layout with the ratings. I like that setup a lot.

Can you also let me know how I can have the following features...

- Website screenshots for the listings
- Text descriptions for each listing
- Sponsored listings
- User reviews (actual written reviews along with 'start' ratings)

Also I am wondering how it can interface with vBulletin? Ideally, I would like a setup where users must be VB forum members to add their listings and have an option in their VB profile to add their listings (so it all ties together with my forum).

I guess I'm not looking for the standard directory structure, but rather more of a categorized website review directory. I know it can be done with indexu. For example webhost-resources.com is a great example.

Can someone let me know how I can accomplish the above as well as integrate it into my design? Who would I have do this and how much would it cost?

As you suggest, INDEXU can be easily customized to do most, if not all, of what you want to do.

Seems like I read the cost to customize that site was about $500, maybe a little less.

I think most of the customization will be with the HTML pages but it will depend on what you want done and how much you can do yourself. Most of the PHP programming for what you want is already there. You will need to a field for the link image but that is easy. There is a feature to upload images and the text descriptions, sponsored listings and user reviews are already there.

Integration with vB is a different story. There was a hack for v2.6 but I am not sure how well it worked. There may be some info at the vB site on how to use the vB login to access other programs.

Does anyone know if HostReso of www.webhost-resources.com is araound these forums anymore? I'd like to get a hold of the coder he used and see if he's interetested in my project.

Are there any other reputable coders on these boards that are interested in my project?

Also is there anywhere I can demo the admin side of indexu?

I just want to be entirely sure I can get this script to do what I need before I invest in it.

I should add I have no PHP skills myself, so all this work would needed to be contracted out.

to access the demo, click the INDEXU tab at the top of the screen and then click the Demo hyperlink just underneath the About Us tab ( http://www.nicecoder.com/idx_demo.php ).

Other than a handful of posts when he first started, HostReso was never very active in the forum.

Adding the screenshot image will require some PHP and maybe some other areas but the majority of the work will probably be HTML. Or graphics.
