We have many users that indexu in chinese, japanese, and western languages. Make sure to use correct CHARSET in html header and your mysql server is compiled with utf-8 support.

    Default No !!!

    No thats wrong !!
As written several times for mod_rewrite you must change php, because rwrite letter option for titles in urls doesn't support all special letters.

By the way, if you update indexu, PLEASE write also which php files are updated !!!!!!
I changed all fils and now I have to compare all again...

    Default I like it

I like it and I think for that price it is the best, but you should be sure you must customize things.

Frank your only half correct. This is no reason to not use indexU 5.01 which now has a modrewrite editor bit in the control panel. Simply remove the title code on modrewrite and it will work fine.

    Default Nop

People here like fighting, good for my english training
Please, you speak about kicking a feature !
The question was does indecu support UTF-8 and with it other languages like english which may have other charset and the answer must be: NO.
The defalt version does not support it and you must do changes in the code and may be you and me doesn't see them all at the moment - one important point is that you must rewrite / rethink the complete title in url thing.

But you are right, this is no important point against using indexu, but may be for chinese or other strange (written) languages you get more much problems you never thought before.

Only to give the correct answer, v5 is the best version I have seen in years and I have seen more than nearly every other user here

    Regards

You can now remove the title from urls in about 3 seconds using hte control panel - you do lose the ability to have search engine friednly urls. but that does not matter so much anymore. The world of search engines indeed moves fast...

    Please be calm.
With utf-8, indexu can perform normal operation such as searching, browsing pages, etc. As frank said, you will have problem if you enable the mod-rewrite (with displaying category name or link title).
