    Default Dmoz Extractor

    Hello,

I project to purchase Dmoz Extractor but i need some informations (i seen the Dmoz instructions but not understood all well cause my english), here's my question :

Can i use Dmoz directory links, what links i want without number restrictions and put them in my IndexU website and putting commercial Ads (like AdSense)? (using Dmoz links on commercial website).

Is there any restriction to use it ?

    Thanks

I'm a bit confused by what you're asking, but I think this is what you want to know.

The DMOZ Extractor can only extract categories and the links inside those categories. It cannot extract links by keyword.

Yes you can add Adsense to your IndexU.

If you make a site using the ODP (DMOZ) data then you must follow their license which can be found at http://www.dmoz.org/license.html

    Hi Bruceper,

Sorry, i told you my english is not so good.

I was talking about the Dmoz licence, they give permission to use them data on commercial website ? is there any restriction ? i read the licence page but not sure to understand all, as i know you must have this information, i hope.

Also i have another question, i project (for this coming website) to purchase an IndexU licence and would know if it's possible to have multiple installation on the same website but in different subdomains, the same licence key works for many different installation of IndexU ?

    Thanks

From what I understand of the license, you may use the DMOZ data but you must tell people that you are using it.

Note that I am not a lawyer, consult a lawyer for actual legal advice regarding contracts.

Dody has allowed users to do what you want in the past, but he needed to do something special in order for it to work. You would need to contact him in regards to that. You can send him a private message on the forum here.

Yes it's possible, but Dody has to set up the license so it will work.

For every subdomain installation i may ask a licence or a licence for entire installations on same root domaine name (example : installation1.mywebsite.com, installation2.mywebsite.com, ... the same licence ley works for all ?

Yes, but Dody has to set it up for you if he allows it.

    Ok, waiting for Dody reply.

You mean if i use Dmoz data i must place a link to Dmoz site, yes i know, but ithink you must mention it in the features of Dmoz Extractor, the product is interesting but like me there's people wondering if it's legal to use, i know it's (i'm a Dmoz editor) but maybe there's anothers clauses.

Anyway, i think it's amazing product, i know a similar product who extract data from Yahoo but the problem that Yahoo don't give permission to use his links, it's not legal, and second problem not made for IndexU, maybe you know this product.

    Thanks anyway for your help.
