    Default Can indexu do it?

Let's say there are two categories: cars and cities. is there any way to change them as main directory and subdirectory? So you can search cars by city, or cities by car. For example you want to find what cities have Audi for sale or what cars are bieng selled in Los Angeles.

You can search by category, but categories are categories and subcategories are subcategories, they don't move unless an admin moves them.

If you searched for Audi you would find all categories and listings for audi, if you searched for los angeles you would find all categories and listings for los angeles. If you searched for audi los angeles you would find all categories and listings that have audi los angeles in them

Thank you! Another question. Do I need to be a programmer to config IndexU? What do I need to know to work with IndexU?

To configure IndexU, no. If you want to customize it yourself then yes.

However with all the changes we're making for our new plugin features there should be almost no need to actually customize the script itself. Just upload a plugin, turn it on and change the settings.

IndexU is limited in it's plugins right now, but we expect many plugins to come in the near future both from us and developers.

Additionally you would need a firm grasp of html if you wanted to customize the templates. However with the number of templates out there this really isn't required.

Thanks! Is there any limittaion of sub-catagories? I mean sub -> sub-sub -> sub-sub-sub, etc.?
And as I see if i don't know something there's a good tech support even here on forum. Right?

I don't think there is a limit of sub-categories, I am sure you are fine with sub-sub-sub!

Support is good, best person for Support is Bruce but other members usually help too.

There is no known limitation to subcategories. The first limit you reach will be how many listings and records your webserver can handle.

    Support? That's what I do.

Thanks! Sorry for so many questions.. because I need to clarify as many things as possible before start.. May I change pictures of directories instead of standard "folder" pictures ? For example on auto directory put some picture with auto, on electronic directory put another one?

You bet you can, that's very easy to do actually. Each one can be unique if you want.

Yep... The standard 'folder' is just a pic... You can use any pic you want in there. Infact, there was just another user that posted the same question..

Bruceper, for an Audi dealership website to be shown/listed in a subcategory under 'Audi' and "Los Angeles", would the site have to be listed twice, or is there a multicategory/subcat choice for all listings?

Is this a simple keyword search from the content of each listing or is there a feature to add multiple labels/categories to each listing where the search function will reference?

You can add a link in up to three categories. So in your example the Audi dealership would only have to submit their listing once, but appear on the website twice (audi and los angeles)

Yes there is a simple keyword search, and IndexU also has keywords (labels) that are searched as well.
