Banners and text links

Where and how can we insert banners (with different sizes) and boxes with text links in the main page and others (not the same ads on each page)?

I can only answer that question this way, insert them whereever you want by editing the code.

Create a block (or more) and place ads in them as you will. For banners search the forum for other ideas from users.
