1. I install the demo free version. and i get a message from microsoft, "suspicious website - this might be a phishing website..." why ? 2. Other microsoft alert when i try to add a new listing as a user: this website wants to run add-on: MSXML 5.0 form microsoft. If you trust the website and the add-on, click here... How can i set up a directory with those messages. the clients will run away... ? 3. Can i view all the links for a category and sub-category? i want to be able to edit any link i want and his reviews the rating as the administator ? without search for link id, title or other field. 4. I didn't find any statistic in admin demo. All click statistic with user ip/country category click, page views, link click to get a picture of how users (will) use my website with indexu directory? 5. Why i need to edit html and php files and understand them like a programmer to customizing my web site ? i use ie7 Thank You |

1) Don't know why it's tagged a phishing site, other than the fact that IE7 completely sucks and MS OneCare once flagged their own site as suspicious. Did you buy the domain from someone? If you add content does the dumb warning go away? 2) I see no reason why the XML addon is trying to be installed. Perhaps this was simply a windows update that hasn't been installed yet.

As near as I can tell from searching, it's a big mystery as to how MS determines what site is real and what isn't. MS has flagged a number of it's own sites as phishing sites (read slashdot, screenshots are there) so we know it's not a proven technology. Shortly you can expect someone to sue them for it for lost traffic and profits (it's gonna happen).

It's all about stock confidence and price. Shareholders get upset when class action lawsuits are announced (and something like this that affects thousands or more sites could easily be a class action suit). But we're off topic now. Sorry bout that

I write to Microsoft Phishing Filter Support. they will removed the incorrect designation. About the MSXML 5.0 it's the ajax component (Zubby - helpdesk) About the statistic i know awstats it's not bad, i'll try Google Analytics when i set my final site and buy indexU ![]() It's not a problem to edit html file i'm a programmer... (C, C++, C#, VB) but want to deal with the content and business only. That is the reson i search for ready for use directory script Last edited by mr_dir; 07-25-2007 at 12:11 PM. |

I didn't know that about ajax, I'll file that away for future knowledge. IndexU really doesn't need much changing to customize it. To run it right out of the box all you really need to do is the regular setup. Updating/modifying the images is a bonus, but not necessary. To get something truly spectacular out of it though you need to edit the html. But you would with any directory since they can't be everything to everyone. Google Analytics is a good choice, it gives you lots of great information and I forgot to mention that one earlier.
