    Default Mail explosion

Yet again mail processing has failed. The issue again was caused by someone sending uncompressed excel files as attachments in a support email.

The only way to resolve the issue quickly is to delete the email. You will not receive a response to that ticket.

Due to users not thinking before they act and causing other users problems, our mail server will now reject any emails larger than 1MB including headers and attachments.

So yes, we have a backlog of support emails now. They will be answered as soon as possible.

Can you just filter out all the emails with an attachments not Zip?

I could, but limiting all attachments was easier

Seriously now though, exim is a little difficult in the way it works with attachments. It doesn't really care WHAT the attachment is, is only looks at the size of the email. I'm sure I could get an addon that would scan for the attachments but then we could be looking at other issues such as performance and at that point it's also something else that can go wrong.

I prefer to keep everything as easy as possible if I can. One simple line of code fixes the issue and honestly that's good for me.
