Sitemap generator not work for 80.000 Links?

Hello community,
I have a indexu last version site that was more than 80.000 Links. When i run the sitemap generator it returns this error

"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 50331648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 14250973 bytes) in /home/myonline/public_html/admin/sitemap.php on line 546"

So i contact the nicecoder support that tell-me that i have to increase the memory_limit at php.ini! My hosting company already ser php memory_limit to 64M! I have to subscrive a VPS (virtual private Server) Account to increase more the memory_limit ! Now i have the VPS account and access to php.ini file. I set the memory_limit to 2048M! I run the sitemap again ... and one more time the same error!! I put the php_limit to UNLIMITED but the error remains the same!
I begin to delete links from phpmyadmin.Only when i arrived to 20.000 links the sitemap generator works!! (Sql Command: delete from idx_link where link_id > 20000).
After that big big links delete i could run the sitemap generator with success!No errors!
My question is:
What i have to do more, to run the sitemap generator to a indexu with 80.000 links? Thanks in advance for your time and help.

But i have a VPS and i have full access to the server! VPS emulate a dedicated server!
Why you say that a dedicated server will solve my problem?

Dude, if you give me a technical answer minimally acceptable, i maybe agree with you.
The problem is memory_limit ad if i have unlimited memory_limit so i don´t see how the dedicated server will solve my problem! My vps not even crash when i run sitemap. The processor go to 95% and memory to 80%... but vps not crash!

Just because the VPS doesn't crash doesn't mean that it can follow through with the request. What is the processor power of the VPS? What is the alloted memory for the VPS? Yes, VPS is a 'portion' of a dedicated server, that is dedicated just to you. But you configure ( you = web hosting company ) the VPS for the amount of resources you want, but that doesn't mean the amount dedicated to the VPS is enough for 80k of links.

I've never cared for VPS's much. Maybe if I was running something with static HTML and no query's, but there is a TON going on when your speaking of IndexU.
