Default [REPOST] Hypens are coming out like this > Beat/'s (as seen on youtube)

    REPOST!

    if anyone can help.

this is my second post and it looks like a lot of people read it, but nobody answered. so im sending my S.O.S on here again and also on youtube (which i would prefer not to do because if people read it, people will be reserved about the script). But when in need sometimes you have to have a "by any means necessary" approach in order to get things resolved or working.

at any rate, this is the problem that i found on indexu in the following youtube video and as described below:

YouTube - Indexu script apostrophe problem

    how can this be fixed?

Words with apostrophes such as Beat's is showing up as:

    Beat/'s

    .....instead of......

    Beat's

and this is showing up all across all the pages with any words that have hyphens in indexu.

As soon as this is resolved, i would like to remove this video from Youtube, thanks.

    Howdy,

Do you have a link to a page with this error,

Also if you look in the MYSQL database what is it showing up in there, in the raw data, hopefully that should indicate if its a display issue or a issue when the data is being collected.

    Cheers

Well then if its showing up in the database then its displaying correctly .... so
i guess the question should be , how did you load them in... was it a database load or manually through the add listing?

a database load simply said. actually this happened from upgrading. now i see why people are scared to upgrade sometimes.

its stuff like this that happens.

its a shame that theirs not that much support on here as their should be especially after all the hard work in the past that i have tried put in - trying to help this application rid as many bugs as possible and this is the return. sighs.. pretty sad.

but i say thanks for reaching out ezykiwi its all reflective.

shame it took having to have this problem put on youtube in order to get a response, but at least it help me to describe the problem. but then again, youtube is amazing.

    thanks again man.

    So have you fixed it?

I guess the work around is to do a sql find and replace on the database....

so find /' and replace just with '

Im not the best with sql , whenever i need something like that i just google for examples mate.

Hope it works out for you...

I tend to normally download the database to excel and play with it in there

    thanks ezikiwi.

i'll do that and see what happens.

but is that common, that such a thing would happen like that when u upgrade or when you import a database back into the script?

    thanks,

Cool, it maybe something that the coders/dody can look at as a improvement for others, but thats the quick fix to atleast get it back to looking good quickly for site visitors,

    Glad it worked for ya....
